Is this a good rig?

1 x DBX 166xl Compressor.

I'm not a very big fan of dual 15" speakers for karaoke.

Looks pretty dang nice to me!Someone might suggest monitors or subs for you next but that would probably depend on your application.

And the JRX don't have all that good a name, either. They look to be the weak link in that system.

That type of speaker is designed to be on a raised stage. The idea is to get the horn over the top of the head of the standing crowd. Otherwise the high frequencies get chewed up when a crowd is present. (Think of a room filled with 200 pound sound absorbing water bags when you think of people.) Low freqs go around people, due to wavelength, so they aren't absorbed as easily.

You could do a lot better than JBL JRX speakers, A LOT BETTER. Yamaha, Electro Voice, Yorkville, QSC, some models of Peavey speakers and several others. JRX is their entry level product and well known to be just so so compared to other speakers.

I agree, the JRX speakers have a lot of "logo tax" and are not worth the money. They absolutely should be raised so the top of the cabinets are at least 7 feet in the air. I would be pretty unhappy with that system in any venue, no matter how small.

Subs would be good if you play "break music" but depending on the venue/genre that may be unnecessary.

Agree with the dual 15's for karaoke, not very practical. You want the speakers about 6' in the air at minimum. Those speakers you cannot put on stands, when they are on the floor all the sound dissipates into the the crowds legs.
The rest of the system is great. Assuming you are using the compressor on the mics?

Yes, the compressor is for the mic. dang, i bought those speakers because of all the good reviews it got. didn't know it was that bad.

Just to expand on this, you want the horns at about 6 feet or a little higher. Basically you want to get them higher than most of the heads in the room because as Mcky pointed out the high frequencies will get absorbed by the bodies in the room whereas the lower end will travel through the room. Those speakers are actually designed to be on poles on top of a subwoofer or alternatively as suggested could be put up on a raised stage. Unfortunately, you've fallen into a common mistake made by many KJs and DJs who by those types of cabinets. They are not like your home speakers, they don't belong on the floor.

Beyond that I agree with others, nice rig overall, maybe look at getting a stage monitor for the singers.

I have to say that I have used PV-215's for my show. They were placed on 6-inch risers or higher (depending on the venue) and they worked quite well all around the room. Now granted, except for the singer(s), most people were sitting most of the time and so the highs weren't lost.

The Road Ready RR21 Universal Folding Stand carries the speaker weight when a stage or other riser isn't available.

Will the PA speakers be good if i place it on a stand so that the horn is above the crowd? How high should i place the stand? 2-4 feet? Which is the proper height?

Unfortunately, those cabinets are not designed for pole mounts. Only the smaller JRX115 & JRX 112M have pole mounts. So unless you can sit them on a higher platform or a couple tables at least, you will not be able to raise those to where they should be.

Lon, did they maybe change that at some point? I was helping a DJ friend of mine heft his pair of JRX onto poles. I don't think he'd be the type to have added them in at a later point.

The ones i've seen didn't have pole mounts and they are not listed in the specs of the cab themselves like the smaller cabs describe. They may have changed them possibly due to the weight factor?

I wouldn't want to put a JRX125 on a pole. It seems like it could fall over too easily, and a speaker falling down might land on a customer.

I sometimes put one speaker on top of my amp rack and the other one on a sub. My racks are all about 36" tall. I prefer to get them a little higher (subs are 48" tall) but sometimes it is not necessary to bring in two subs.

As long as the horns are above the audience, the sound that comes out of them won't get blocked. Some of the sound that comes out of the top woofer is also subject to being blocked by people, though; so it can be helpful to get the top woofer up high as well. That's why I like the top of my speakers to be 8 feet up.

I have these same speakers and they rock! I use them on the floor for small events, and on stands for larger ones, etc. No issues at all. I get a positive response regarding the sound all the time...
