Hey All,

I have read the many topics about Aphex gear and have a chance to pick up an old 104 free from a friend, but I will need to source a power supply for it.

Is this still a good box to enhance ones PA? Is the 204 that much better, or are they basically the same box?

I am not 100% happy with my sound and think this may be the missing link, along with ditching the EQ which causes me more trouble than it's worth.

Plus I cant beat the price, that's for sure.

I have used both and could not tell the difference. It is a good addition to any system. start with all the controls at 12 oclock and you will not have to turn any that much.

Well, I picked up a power supply for this 104 unit and used it for the first time over the weekend. As suggested, I bypassed my EQ and started off with all knobs at 12, and WOW. Sounds great!

I too had the same apprehension as others about using a "magic box", but it certainly did sound fantastic!

Now after reading the rave reviews, I am wondering if I shouldn't upgrade to a BBE.

You still want to adjust the EQ for room acoustics. I would not be without a BBE and Aphex for I can bypass EFX, BBE or the Aphex one at a time and demo their effects.
