I know this is gonna sound kinda weird, but what equipment do you need to record a song and put it on this wonderful site? I mean, I have the standard karaoke equipment minus any recording devices. Is that simply it..... A recording device????

hey spot...most of us use record/editing software and either plug a mic into the puter or into a mixer then the mixer to the puter.

Audacity is a free record/edit software that many use. Personally I have a condenser plugged into an alto preamp then that is plugged into a m-audio external interface which in turn is plugged into a usb slot on my computer. I put the mp3 track into adobe auditions multitrack and record my vocals on a seperate track. That way I can edit and add efx before mixing down. Once mixed you save to mp3 format and if you only have a free subscription to SS you will have to save to no more than 3mb. at 128kbps 1minute of song = 1mb
